چکیده

The circadian clock controls 24-h rhythms in many biological processes, allowing appropriate timing of biological rhythms relative to dawn and dusk. Known clock circuits include multiple, interlocked feedback loops. Theory suggested that multiple loops contribute the flexibility for molecular rhythms to track multiple phases of the external cycle. Clear dawn- and dusk-tracking rhythms illustrate the flexibility of timing in Ipomoea nil. Molecular clock components in Arabidopsis thaliana showed complex, photoperiod-dependent regulation, which was analysed by comparison with three contrasting models. A simple, quantitative measure, Dusk Sensitivity, was introduced to compare the behaviour of clock models with varying loop complexity. Evening-expressed clock genes showed photoperiod-dependent dusk sensitivity, as predicted by the three-loop model, whereas the one- and two-loop models tracked dawn and dusk, respectively. Output genes for starch degradation achieved dusk-tracking expression through light regulation, rather than a dusk-tracking rhythm. Model analysis predicted which biochemical processes could be manipulated to extend dusk tracking. Our results reveal how an operating principle of biological regulators applies specifically to the plant circadian clock.

Eessential Oil Composition of Achillea filipendulina, A. arabica and A. eriophora Cultivated under Temperate Climate in Iran

The Achillea L. genus has a wide distributional range, and the differences in oil composition may be affected by different environmental factors such as soil mineral fertilization, the climate conditions and the culture site. To evaluate the effect of temperate climate on content and chemical combination of essential oil of Achillea filipendulina Lam,  A. arabica Kotschy and A. eriophora DC., t...

Response of Seed Yield, Its Components, Chlorophyll Content and Proline Concentration of Mung bean (Vigna radiate L.) To Apply Sulphate Potassium Fertilizer under Salinity Stress Situation

BACKGROUND: Among the environmental stresses soil salinity is a widespread environmental problem that has been found to affect more than 77 million hectares or 5% of the cultivable land of the universe. Potassium has a positive role in plant growth under saline conditions, because this element plays an essential role in photosynthesis, osmo regulatory adaptations of plant to wa...

Regulatory mechanisms of metabolic flexibility in the dark-eyed junco (Junco hyemalis).

Small temperate birds reversibly modify their aerobic performance to maintain thermoregulatory homeostasis under seasonally changing environmental conditions and these physiological adjustments may be attributable to changes in the expression of genes in the underlying regulatory networks. Here, we report the results of an experimental procedure designed to gain insight into the fundamental mec...
